A nation of fatties!
14/09/2011

Just when you thought you were in shape...... Guess again. As suspected Australians think they are of "normal" size and that it's acceptable to be wearing bigger and bigger clothing sizes. NO it's not!

A recent survey has found that there is an alarming rate of our general community who have the misconception that they are within a healthy weight range, where in reality they are so used to seeing overweight people around them that they get used to the idea that this is the norm.

Also scarily and not surprisingly, more and more people are revealling they are unhappy... Hmmm we think there's a direct relationship, with people spending less than 2 hours per week exercising and only around 25% eating 5 peices of fruit and vegetables per day...

Let's get to the point - stop eating so much food and start training otherwise you will find yourself fat and unhappy. Stop kidding yourself and GET REAL!

Beep Test FUN!
27/07/2011

The beep test is a universal fitness test run to rank your fitness against other people around the world. It is run over a 20 meter interval with participants having to reach the marker before the next "beep" sounds.

Because this is a internationally recognised fitness test you can compare yourself to anyone around the world using the scaled scores on the Beep Test audio.

The 20 meter shuttle is used by many different groups around the world including many armed forces and emergency services groups as a marker of fitness for recruits. For example the Australian Army requires a level of 7.5 for initial enlistment, the NSW Fire Brigade requires level 9.6!

Protein Powders
11/07/2011

There are a range of different protein powders on the market, but I have always suggested Egg based protein. Egg Protein is extracted from pure egg white and is used and utilized by the body more efficiently than most other powders. Egg based products contain a full range of amino acids and are usually cholesterol and fat free.
